How To Create Successful
Relationships
by Michael S. Clouse
This business is not about
"getting people in." This business is about
"keeping people in." So what's the best way to
"keep people in?" Take the time to get them
involved. Take the time to create a lasting
relationship.
So how do you create
successful relationships? Let's discuss three
steps we can take—and then let's take a simple
"How am I doing in this relationship area of my
business?" test.
Step #1: Get them involved in
attending your weekly business briefings.
Do your new distributors know
where and when these events take place—and do
they know why they should attend?
Step #2: Get them involved in
listening to your team's weekly conference
calls.
Again, do they know what
number to dial, what time to call, and what
benefits they will receive if they take the time
to listen in?
Step #3: Get them involved in
their own personal development program.
Read 10 pages of a good book
everyday. Do they know what they should be
reading? [Nexera.com Your Library] Listen to a
30 minute CD program everyday. Do they know what
they should be hearing? [Nexera.com Your 90-Day
Game Plan] Get them to attend one class per
quarter—that will take them from where they are
now, to where they truly desire to go. Have you
suggested that they register for the next
Mastermind event? Suggest something!
If you simply spend a little
more time with each new customer, and invest a
little more time with each new distributor you
personally sponsor, your business will begin to
grow even faster...
Discover the reason(s) they
want your product (what we call their product
"Why?") and/or the reason(s) they want to be
involved with you in the business (their
business "Why?"). And if you can just keep them
in the game until they taste some success—and
get that first bonus check—they may choose to
stick around a little longer, and may even
become your next superstar!
So how can you tell if you're
winning the relationship game? Well I want you
to take this simple—and yet extremely
telling—little four-part relationship test. Let
me review this with you, and then take the test
yourself!
1. Write down the names of the
top five to ten leaders, or potential leaders,
on your team... And if you're just getting
started, simply list the names of your top five
to ten potential distributors.
2. Next, for each name you've
listed, how many of the following seven
questions can you successfully answer? Do you
know:
1. where do they work?
2. what do they do for a living?
3. what is the name of their spouse?
4. what are the names of their children?
5. what recreational activity do they most
enjoy?
6. why are they involved with you in this
business?
7. what is the color of the carpet in their
living room?
3. To build stronger
relationships—and a stronger team: pick up the
telephone and call the first person on your
list, have a conversation about questions 1 - 6
only, and prepare to be a bit surprised at what
you learn. Continue this assignment with each
person you've listed, and then incorporate this
relationship building exercise with all those
you continue to sponsor.
4. Make arrangements to
discover—in person—the answer to question #7:
What is the color of the carpet in their living
room? Because in our business, this is the
single most important relationship question
there is... Your answer to this one question
speaks volumes as to whether you will struggle
or succeed in your business long-term. Because
the faster you learn How To Create Successful
Relationships—and then create them—the sooner
you will build the life and lifestyle you truly
desire!
The 4th Secret: How To
Create Successful Relationships is the
fundamental understanding that this business is
not about "getting people in." This business is
about "keeping people in." And what's the best
way to "keep people in?" Get them involved, and
then get to know them—for who they are, and for
who they would like to become.
Assignment: Your
assignment: take the four-part relationship
test, and then make your relationship-building
calls.
All the best,
MSC
P.S. And now it's your turn! Read the
books, listen to the
CDs, take the classes,
and build something magnificent!
